The aim of the three days is to enhance your knowledge, develop your understanding and your skillset when working in a Trauma Informed Way.

 

Dr Mike Sims, Del Atkins & Jenna Clark are your trainers for the event. Each are Clinicians and have extensive experience and knowledge in the field of Trauma. We will guide you through the days using our Clinical Expertise and Case Examples to bring the training to life.

Day one

1.   The Clinical Time Line of Trauma, including symptoms of PTSD and CPTSD. 

2.    ACE’s, Clinical Data, Findings and Conclusions:

 

a.    Exploring complexities.

 

b.    Attachment trauma.

 

c.    Innerchild healing in adults.

3.   Vicarious Trauma and Self Care.

4.   Looking at Collective Trauma.

Day 2

 

1.    Trauma and Psychological Eduction: including  Polyvagal Theory, Hand Brain Model and the tools associated with the theory.

2.    Workshops to focus on Trauma responses.

3.    Revisiting Self Care and Vicarious Elements to the work.

Day 3

1. Working out of the Wounds Workshop.

2.    Unconscious elements to the work and how to increase awareness with clients.

3.    Tools, Developing and Enhancing tools, to use in Trauma Informed Working.

4.    Recap on learning and Q&A time with Del, Mike and Jenna.

Jenna Clarke

Jenna has spent the last two decades working in the arena of Trauma. Her career began in the third sector, working extensively with Domestic Abuse. This then moved on to working with Perpetrators of Abuse using Empathy Reengagement Models. The setting was, that all had lived and grown up with ACE’s. Jenna then spent five years working as a First Responder in Human Trafficking, whilst she trained as a therapist back in 2009. Once qualified, she worked part time, in Child Sexual Abuse, whilst she built up her own Clinical Practice. Today, she Supervises over seventy front line worker’s, runs a Trauma Therapy Business and uses EMDR to treat her clients.  She has over 7000 Clinical Hours, in Trauma Informed Working. 

Del Atkins 

Del has a real breadth of knowledge working with trauma, he works with clients both in a short term and longer term capacity from varying fields. To date he has completed over 6000 hours of client work and 1000 hours  as a supervisor and is currently working full time in private practice with an array of clients many being emergency service workers. Del has worked with trauma since completing his initial Humanistic counselling training in 2009 volunteering and working in an Abuse & Rape Counselling Service for over 10 years and has also worked with veterans. Del is an accredited EMDR practitioner and loves personal development and training meaning he draws on many models and theories within his work. Del has also created, presented and supported various training within the charity sector and for emergency service personnel.
